Traverse Town
Traverse Town is the default starting location/hub for
realmsbetween.
Traverse Town has an unusual property: it changes form based on the needs of the people living there. If your character wishes to open a shop or needs something else, usually the town will reform with the area needed overnight.
There is no standard form or costume change upon arrival to Traverse Town, however if there is a form that would allow your character to more easily do things, you are allowed to use that form. (For example: if your character is a non-human given a human or other more easily usable form or a very large or very small character sized down or up to be closer to standard size.) An optional clothing change may happen, if you wish to give your character a Kingdom Hearts-styled/inspired outfit.
Please feel free to add any NPCs or locations you've added to Traverse Town here.

NPCs
Merlin and Archimedes
He's trying to take a more active role this time, especially with all the newcomers that are suddenly showing up.
When he hears about somebody new arriving, he goes to greet them and to try and figure out what kind of help they need. If they are a Keyblade wielder or interested in learning magic, he helps them with practicing and learning their new abilities.
He also gives newcomers their Link device and explains how to use it. He's enchanted the Link devices to change form based on the needs and wants of its particular user.
Even though Traverse Town changes based on the needs of the people living there, he's elected to help speed up the process for newcomers. Anyone that arrives and doesn't have a place to stay, he offers an apartment to them. He's enchanted the apartments to change shape and size to fit whoever is living there.
Merlin lives in a library, most of the books are hand-written by multiple people and are about Heartless, the Darkness, and many other important topics. He offers the books and his services to anyone who needs them.
He seems to have at least one assistant who helps write and catalog books, but he's always willing to take on more.
Archimedes is his pet talking owl who always has something to say about whatever's going on. However, he's got a lot of useful knowledge, even if his ways of sharing it might be abrasive.
Merlin's Library
There's a small section that's walled off where he keeps his bed and other personal effects, but he mainly uses it for rest.
The library itself is a fairly decent size, but it's packed with shelves of books. Many of the books are handwritten journals and personal accounts of the Heartless, so it's great for research.
There's also many books on various types of magic that can be used for learning.
There's a few fiction and non-fiction books on various topics as well, but the main attraction of the library is all the information about the Heartless.
The library is open almost all hours, it's closed during the night while Merlin sleeps, however, if there is an emergency, he'll gladly open it up.
There are currently three apartments above the library. One is taken part-time, but the other two are available. And, with the ever-changing nature of Traverse Town, more may appear if they are needed.
Public Apartments
Merlin has enchanted every apartment to change based on the person or people living there. They will increase or decrease with size, the number of rooms, and the types of rooms needed.
The Arcade
There are many games present from many years and worlds, there's likely some your character has never even heard of.
Above the arcade is an apartment that's full of games and systems that are not arcade consoles. The other furnishings themselves are sparse and it looks like nobody's lived here in a very long time.
You may use the arcade and the apartments as an alternate way to bring video game-based characters to this RP, if you wish.
Advanced Computer Lab
You may use the advanced computer lab as an alternate way to bring in computer-based characters, if you wish. It may also be used as a way for characters to obtain things stored on computers in their world.
Robotics Lab
You may use the robotics lab to help your robotic-based characters adapt to life in the RP, if you wish.
Ventureport Spaceport
There's plenty of space for all kinds of space vehicles, and if one can't fit inside, then they might be able to land on the roof, instead.
There are also facilities for constructing Gummi Ships and many different simulators for practicing flying a Gummi Ship exist. There's even some that let you try out your design and see how you like it.
The bottom floor is a shopping plaza, where people from other worlds have set up booths with their wares. There's also a few set up for selling souvenirs of Traverse Town. If you can't find something in the local Traverse Town shops, there's a good chance that someone here may have it.
One of the most-loved features of the spaceport is the large windows that take up one of the sides of the building. It's constructed in such a way that all of the floors have a great view of town.
The Ventureport may be used as an alternate way to bring in spacefaring characters, if you wish.
Dream Eater Stable
If/When your character obtains more than 1 non-unique Dream Eater, they will arrive at the stable. Your character can come and switch out their Dream Eaters whenever they wish.
There is no limit to the number of Dream Eaters your characters can store here, it will grow based on the needs of the community.
The stables surround a private park, the Dream Eaters are able to freely roam it.
Characters can also visit to play with the Dream Eaters housed here.
Shops
Their specialties are items useful in battle and travel and items used for decorating living quarters. There may be other specialty shops around as well.
More exotic or certain world-based items can be found at the Ventureport Spaceport.
If your character wishes to run a shop in town, they are welcome to do so. The town will adjust and accommodate to their wishes and an available shop will appear in the area where they wish to open one.
